Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Entitlements Director to lead and manage the entitlement process for our varied portfolio of development projects. This position involves overseeing the acquisition of necessary permits and approvals, ensuring that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the entitlement process for multiple large-scale development projects from inception to completion.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
- Strategize and implement approaches to secure zoning and land use approvals.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and ordinances.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, design, and construction, to ensure project timelines and goals are met.
- Facilitate public meetings and represent the company's interests to governmental and community groups.
- Monitor legislative changes that could impact entitlements and advise on necessary adjustments.
- Prepare and present reports and proposals for senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Experience in lieu of education requirements will be considered.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in real estate development, land use planning, or entitlements.
- In-depth knowledge of zoning laws, land use regulations, and entitlement processes.
- Excellent project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the capability to influence and advocate effectively.
- Proven leadership skills with a track record of successfully guiding cross-functional teams.
- Elected/Served on the Board of Commissioners in Yabapai County or have worked in the planning department, strongly preferred.
